Study: "Media coverage has favored Obama campaign"

"Comments made by sources, voters, reporters and anchors that aired on ABC, CBS and NBC evening newscasts over the past two months reflected positively on Obama in 65 percent of cases, compared to 31 percent of cases with regards to McCain, according to the Center for Media and Public Affairs."

"Meanwhile, the first half of Fox News Channel's "Special Report" with Brit Hume showed more balance than any of the network broadcasters"

Can you imagine that! How can it be ......media bias? :o In fact the report about Brit Hume said not only was he most fair but he was hard on both candidates.
I was so disgusted with MSNBC, especially Kieth Oberman (Boob), I decided to lock it out with the parental control feature. Theres no point in helping them with their ratings when they are so far of the charts. Now, I mostly watch Fox and CNN just to see the differences between the two. Somewhere in the middle lies the truth. :|

So....What's the problem??? (there are only 5 people in the country that even still watch all those networks, right?)
Doesn't everyone watch Fox? :nana:

Washington Post Biased towards Obama, Yes, they Admit

Deborah Howell, the Ombudsman of the Washington Post, admits the Post’s coverage was biased for Obama:

“The Post provided a lot of good campaign coverage, but readers have been consistently critical of the lack of probing issues coverage and what they saw as a tilt toward Democrat Barack Obama. My surveys, which ended on Election Day, show that they are right on both counts.”

Hold the presses! Stop the transition!

We have to have a new election because the media weren't fair to McCain and the twit from Alaska.

Waaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh! :cry2:

(Sorry, but they'd lose by even more. The "coverage" was "favorable to Obama" because it was virtually impossible to report the facts accurately in a manner which could be construed favorably to the GOP this year. The Republicans have had everything they've wanted for nearly 8 years and look where we are: still in Iraq, haven't gotten Osama, we're on the verge of a worldwide Depression, the healthcare system's a mess, phenomenal instability in the energy markets..., in short, everything's screwed. Now how do you report that w/o appearing "biased?")

As long as your guy wins it doenst matter what they report, right? What ever happened to real journalists?
This video sheds some light on just how off the charts it has gotten.

D'ja know that Brett Bozo, the guy interviewed in that piece from September, was one of the handful of GOP strategists who retreated to the hills of VA to see if they could figure out a survival strategy for the GOP after the drubbing they took last week?

Or doesn't that matter in your "fair and balanced" Fox world?

Retreated? Oh I get it, they all GATHERED at Mr. Bozells home to discuss where they've screwed up and how they should best realign the party. I'm glad somebody wants to talk about it, if they weren't then I'd be worried. I never want to hear Steve Shmidt, Davis or Tucker Bounds again.

Unbiased news coverage went out the window once the companies reporting the news stopped thinking about the story itself and starting thinking more of their ratings and their investors. Once News become a business that's when the stories just didn't matter anymore.

How right you are!

I think it was in the early 1970's that the accountants took over all television. Good programing, writers, acting....everything was thrown out the window in favor of PROFIT!

Example is CBS.

The home of Edward R. Murrow & Walter Cronkite & run by Bill Paley with an attitude that CBS News should be a public service & not required to turn a profit like the Entertainment Divisions. Some time in the 1970's, that changed & CBS News was put under this "Entertainment Division" & required to show a profit like any other Sitcom.

Since then, all television networks care about only one thing: PROFIT!! They will go with ANY story that will keep viewers tuned into their next ad & will not broadcast news that may anger a large corporate sponsor.

All media has it's sponsor base & bias. You have to watch a few of them to get accurate reporting as they all have profit as their main concern. (that's why I reiterate that for fairly accurate news coverage on politics, if you watch an hour of MSNBC & then & hour of FOX News......Split the difference....You'll be pretty close to the truth!

OMG, the media has turned the whole country left! :fear:

http://www.alternet.org/election08/106276/

62 Million brainwashed voters? This is a national crisis!

We need to control the media! But damn, wasn't it too much media control that caused this?

Whatever, it's just gotta be stopped..., right?

No it won't be stopped because the media is now and has been just a branch of the democrat party. They march in lock step with the left. It's a huge advantage to any dem candidate. If it were the other way around you'd be crying foul. But since it favors your lefty candidates you see nothing wrong with it. Even Dan Rather had to comment on how slanted coverage was for this election.

How does that square with the many arguments I hear (here) that more people watch Fox News now than any other network?
You aren't saying Fox News is "just a branch of the democrat party" too, are you?

No, Dev, not FOX. But ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC. CNN seems to be alittle more even handed than they used to be.
