If he did, Hugo Chavez couldn't have sent him $800,000 for his campaign in a suitcase, now could he?

Two things:

1) I haven't seen an ad about Wright put out by the national RNC, nor a McCain funded, produced, and authorized campaign commercial about him. There have been some "rogue" state republican parties doing them and there is a group called the National Republican Trust PAC that is running ads with Wright in them, but McCain isn't doing them, he's on the record repeatedly saying he doesn't want to use it or discuss it and doesn't think it should be brought up. Palin made a mention of it a few weeks ago, caught flack for it, and apparently got told to cut it by the campaign because she hasn't done it since. He's been very public on this, to the point his own campaign staffers doing TV interviews who happen to accidentally wander into a situation where mentioning Wright would be fair game and reasonable end up going through all kinds of screwed up verbal gyrations to avoid saying the guys name and get off the topic. To claim McCain has no honor and use this as your prime example is pretty weak. Complain about his softening on his initial immigration reform package, his twisted anti-logic on railing against Obama and to some degree Bush on economic policy, and yet sign onto the bailout bill proposed by Bush and supported by Obama, or any number of other topics... but he's clean on this item.

2) McCain has name recognition, historical importance/interest, and quite a bit of political juice left even if he loses tomorrow. McCain is no loser. I would hope you'd have some respect for the man regardless your partisan positioning of the day.
