This election is getting ugly

This election is getting ugly

I feel bad for McCain. No matter who I voted for, McCain is a good man and it is kind of sad to see him go down so hard. Palin, well I am glad to see her go back to the Great White North. Hope she and the First Dude have a nice life and are never heard from again, though I doubt that will be the case. Anyway, I Salute McCain. I know he loves his country.

As of 10:00 I'm not quite sure what you are talking about, McCain isn't going down hard by any means. Now that Obama has apparently taken Ohio, it doesn't loook like it will be possible for McCain to get above 266 electoral votes but it's certainly no blowout. The popular vote country wide is less than 300,000 apart.

Regardless of the popular vote, we elect the President through the electoral college and it looks like Obama will get 340+, Probably more like 380, that is a pretty darned good spanking. Also, Obama is over the 50% line, something that hasn't happened for a Democrat in 30 years, and that was only because of Watergate.

Let me guess, there was a conspiracy that won Obama this election, right? Would Virginia have changed the outcome? NO. Let's be a little like McCain and have some class, be proud of our seamless transition of power unmatched by any country and try make our country better going forward. If we can't do that as Americans, I believe it shows political party is more important than America, and if so, we are certainly doomed.

I for one am glad it's over. I have been watching CNBC news and the one fellow, Larry kudlow, has been in tears now for a couple of hours since he realized that Senator McCain has lost. Kudlow seems to think that President elec Barack Obama will take a cut of the money he makes from the market and may tax him a bit more since he makes well over the $250,000.00 threshhold.
yep one things for sure, there is a new sheriff in town fellas and change is coming. I hope for us little guys it means more $$$ in our pockets.

Read the Wall street journal's analysis of Obama's 'tax break' WE ALL WILL PAY MORE !!! We may see a bit more in our paychecks but it will fly out the window to pay for higher energy, and every thing that higher energy costs affect... which.. drum roll please.. is EVERYTHING.. !!

I'm not the least surprised by the outcome.. the voting public is easily swayed by a good campaign, and a good orator... And Obama had/is both.. Too bad the voting public is ingnorant and won't do any research to see past the rhetoric..

Thankfully campaign promises and rhetoric are almost all BS.. less than 95% see it into law or action..

I hope that Obama can rise above the swill he came and evolved from, and actually try do do some good,, God knows our country needs a lot of help.
I pray the Obama can put his ego away and actually be a good leader and not drive our country into a depression.

I believe they should not of bailed out anybody and let what ever happened happen. Spending all that money on a lost cause sheesh. Lsfarms what if instead of bailing everyone out as they have (and it's a lot more than what we will ever know). They would have spent the same money in plane tickets for anyone that would of liked to have taken trips. Just think what that would have done to the economy, the good will of the government to the people. Everyone for a small amount of time having a bit of fun instead of a few fat cats on wall street. I bet the election would have even had a different outcome. But we the tax payer must first show our loyalty to those who know better how to spend our money. I have tried to keep a tab on what the bail out has cost each of us, I'm up to just over $100,000.00 for each and every person in the us. this is not just bail out money this is the money that the government has put into the market to prop it up. 1000 point swings in the market = trillions of dollars, government puts it in price goes up and then people sell and get out. Things are nuts and I wish they would of just let things alone and let the ones that placed there bets loose. If you gamble there are only a few winners. Sorry but I wanted a plane ticket. not somebody to tell me, hey we saved wall street (which they didn't) so put on a happy face and work hard so we can pay off the tab, sucker.
I just had to add. If you don't think your in up to your ears in government debt ask yourself why has your credit rating gone down when you didn't do anything to upset it, it's because you now owe just over $100,000.00 to your uncle...........sam that is.

Weird, my credit rating hasn't fallen any. I just threw out 2 more pre-approved cards just yesterday, Whats up with that, I don't get it.
Maybe because I lost my wallet on my flight back from Jamaica and had to cancel all my old cards I got put back into the pipeline for a new round of offers.

Reprint from a post on another thread but I think it fits better here:

Just a few quotes showing the reason why I believe change was needed in his country. When we coal burners (who all share so much in common & try to help each other out daily) feel the need to engage in Personal Attack instead of just respectfully disagreeing with eachother, it's time to end the division in this country. Most of the time, I can disagree with my fellow Americans without attacking their patriotism, mental status or motives.........I suggest we all do the same.

Dick, I don't agree with that, this is an issue here on this forum, changing issues in the country is irrelevant.

Most of the time, I can disagree with my fellow Americans without attacking their patriotism, mental status or motives.........I suggest we ll do the same.

This I agree with. To engage in this in a humorous manner is OK, to be serious isn't. When reading a written word it's hard to see the manner in which a comment is presented. I suppose we all should lighten up a little.
