We will survive Obama

PostBy: coalkirk On: Wed Nov 05, 2008 9:52 am

I know many are jubilant today with the election of Obama and others are dismayed. Let me suggest that we don't need to worry about Obama. It's Nancy Pelosi you should be worried about. She can and will now run amauck in the house. Her far left ideas and agendas should scare the hell out of you. Fasten your seat belts.

I voted for Obama, but also think Pelosi needs to go. There isn't a bipartisan bone in her body and her main concern is to treat the Republicans in congress the way the Democrats were treated by the republican majority. There is no room for this kind of BS going forward. We have got to put the country above party politics.

What a classy speach McCain gave last night. I always said he was a good man, and he proved himself to be just that last night. He is a true American who wants what is best for our country and his speach made me very proud to be an American. I also thought Obama gave a great speach, and if what he said is done, America will be fine and will prosper.

My main concern over the at least the next 2 years is the energy policy that is instituted. If Obama gets what he wants we are all *censored*. What he wants to do cannot be done without energy costs going through the roof.

I agree Richard.

I am just wondering how he plans to control energy costs when he is opposed to nuke plants AND coal fired plants, doesn't want to drill offshore and ANWAR is also out of the question? looks to me like 4 more years of foreign oil dependency because no matter how many solar plants and wind farms he builds, it won't put a dent in our comsumption.

I am afraid he went the route of saying anything and everything that people wanted to hear so he would get elected. Now, he has no intention for following through because he knows his promises were hollow at best and darn near impossible.
One good example of this was the debate when he said he would control spending and even institute a spending freeze for however long it took to get things under control... Then 10 minutes later he said he would institute this new program and that new program...... Where is that money coming from?????

I think Obama has the potential to be a great, unifying President & I also agree that Pelosi & Reid must go. Their cowardice to stand up to a very unpopular President, by either cutting off the funding for Iraq &/or impeaching both Bush & Cheney, left we Americans defenseless to avoid the calamities we are now suffering as a nation. While they had the power to do both.......they did neither & are both cowards!

remember, the Libs did not get a filibuster proof Senate. I also understand that Joe Lieberman is being called on the carpet today. If the Libs push him too far, he'll be another vote in the Republican column. Hopefully they can, together , hold back the tide of Socialism, until the people of this country see what they really bought. In two years the return of America begins.

I don't get all of the socialist comments about Obama. The federal government under the Republicans created the Medicare prescription drug plan that forced everyone over 65 into their plan. The bank bailout has a big catch. The federal govt takes stock ownership in any bank that participates. Today on CNBC they were talking about this administration floating the idea of the same type of bailout for GM where the federal government takes ownership of their preferred stock. The government taking control of private companies is socialism, well actually communism. All of this brought to you by the party of smaller government.

That's the problem, the GOP picked up democrat's bad habits. BO & the dems will just make government even bigger. :(

Welcome to "Republican Rock Bottom."

Possessed of no vision, no principle, no purpose, and no appeal, we deserved our fate.

"Dead is the self-indulgent imbecility of “re-branding” — as if the Republican Party was a corporate product to be repackaged, not a transformational political movement to be led. Despite what the media will tell you, and what so-called “conservative leaders” will discuss ad nauseam during “secret” meetings, this situation is not a crisis. It is an opportunity. Today, we are as the Great Emancipator proclaimed during another time of national trial: unbound by the tired dogmas of the past; and free to think and act anew.

First, we must not mindlessly mimic the momentarily triumphant Left. Sleek, detached, media savvy non-entities posing as existentially anguished leaders are neither in our nature nor our future. We are not teeny-bopper, pop-star politicians or the ideological dinosaurs of wealth redistribution.

At heart, we Republicans are flesh and blood and backbone, the proud servants of people. If we re-orient our vision, renew our purpose, and reaffirm our principles, the times will demand us — not as we were, but as we must be!"

“Enduring principles” of the Republican Party:

1. Our liberty is from God not the government.
2. Our sovereignty rests in our souls not the soil.
3. Our security is through strength not surrender.
4. Our prosperity is from the private sector not the public sector.
5. Our truths are self-evident not relative.

He has admitted to that. I suppose he figures all those that cannot afford the energy cost increases can just become covered by his "Spread the Wealth" policy. It's hard to say as so far only ideas came from him. Very few solutions.

Welcome to "Republican Rock Bottom."

Now that the moderates have jumped ship and defected to the other side we can get back to true Conservative Values. Remember there were millions of votes for McCain. Those people are not going away.

True Conservative Values will prevail. Last night it was reported (exit polls) that in Pennsylvania the majority of votes for McCain came from white catholic men. What would all those people have in common? Right to Life?

Did you notice what happened on the left coast last night? The voters of California approved a proposition of marriage as being between a man and woman. Another Conservative Value! Approved by liberal voters. I'm off and running on a toot. Remember, In the end Conservative Values will prevail.

I guess it comes down to how you define "Going Away?" ("Those people are not going away")

I would include "DEATH" under the category of "Going Away"....& since most of McCain's supporters keep their teeth in a glass beside the bed at night in the nursing home, they will indeed be "Going Away" well before any future election.
So much for the future of your conservative Republican Party. :crutch:
