Broken Door Handle

Well I have a problem my loading door handle broke off from the inside :mad: woke up to find the door open and the stove idling :shock: luckily the basement window was open .Does anyone have any suggestion it"s a warm morning on the back of the stove says Eagle Foundry any help would be appreciated thank you

Did the bolt break or was it the latch on the inside of the door?

The bolt break off and the latch was in the fire what a scary sight.

Take it to a local machine shop or fabricator. I think it would'nt be a big deal. A good machinist would probably see a the design flaw and improve on it as well. Plus it would be fast solution.

Yaaa, a bit of scrap steel in the right hands will have that fixed in 38 minutes.

I agree with everyone; take it to a good machine shop and they will be able to fix it. In most cases after they have fixed it you will not be able to tell it was broken and you will have a latch that will not fail during the night or when your away from the house.

I found one for sale at Woodmans Parts plus $29 S/H :mad: thanks for all the replys .
