I saw that photo in our local paper and immediately thought "this is not a good sign". I also heard a statement on a radio news report to the effect that Obama doesn't expect any "diificulties" in dealing with President Bush. This is not a good sign.

Can you show specific documentation of this?LOWEST APPROVAL RATING EVER RECORDED IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND
Yes, his rating is pretty bad. terrible actually. But it is not the lowest in the recorded history of mankind because the democratic house led by the fearless leader Nancy Perlosi is HALF of what Preident Bush's rating is.(now THAT is low )siblay wrote:Well, you've heard of it now! Perhaps if our current president had planned ahead he wouldn't have the LOWEST APPROVAL RATING EVER RECORDED IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND and all of the reasons to go along with it.
Here you go John. Took me 5 minutes to compile this short list but I could spend all night finding more.Wood'nCoal wrote:Can you show specific documentation of this?LOWEST APPROVAL RATING EVER RECORDED IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND
Keep in mind, this is even before Bush pardons Scooter Libby (which you know will be shortly b4 he leaves office) to ensure his continued silence, a full investigation of the firing of the US Attys & full disclosure of the lies that led us into war. This will be Bush's "High Point" in terms of ranking, imo.
It's more & more universally accepted that GW Bush is the worst President in our history.
(See if you can find rankings where Bush is rated well, I'm always open to new info))
( Since Presidential rankings will always be very subjective, I'll even accept ratings from Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh & Fox News if you can find good ratings even there)

As for your question/statement Ed..."Funny, I've never heard of this office...."....Every President we have ever had was first a "President Elect" b4 they were sworn in. Thus, any letter/statement from his/her office would come from "The Office of The President Elect"...It;'s a statement of FACT not a boast.

The quote states in the "history of mankind", therefore it's not limited to the past 200 years or so. Where else in the history of mankind could a leader have possibly attained a lower approval rating?LOWEST APPROVAL RATING EVER RECORDED IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND
Devil, I looked at your links, I agree that GWB has a low approval rating. That I'm not disputing. I'm asking for proof that no leader has ever had a lower approval rating at anytime from the present moment back to when the first human walked the earth. That would qualify the statement and make it a valid post under the new rule.
For example...what was this guy's approval rating??

I can't wait for all the "patriots" here to snap to when "Hail to the Chief" is played for the new Commander in Chief!

That has nothing to do with the discussion here, I suggest starting a thread on the topic if it interests you.
Also, your use of quotation marks around the word "patriots" seems to infer that I am not patriotic because I am a Republican, I resent that remark and would like you to retract it as well as apologize to anyone else on this forum that you offended with that remark.
I also will tell you that I am at least as patriotic as you my friend, probably more so because I would lay my life on the line for the country I love, that my father fought for in WW II. WOULD YOU?

From my understanding President Bush made it clear to his staff months ago that there won't be any problems regradless of who got elected such as the all the W's getting ripped off the computer keyboards when the Clinton staff left office. If my recollection is correct the article said that Bush's staff was working with both candidates way before the election took place to insure it went as smoothly as possible.CoaLen wrote: I also heard a statement on a radio news report to the effect that Obama doesn't expect any "diificulties" in dealing with President Bush. He's also the President with the highest approval rating ever.siblay wrote:LOWEST APPROVAL RATING EVER RECORDED IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND

Take a chill pill, W&C, and get used to it, because a whole lot of people around here have suggested at one time or other that every critic of our current President was somehow unpatriotic or an outright commie if they didn't accept his decisions without question.Wood'nCoal wrote:That has nothing to do with the discussion here, I suggest starting a thread on the topic if it interests you.

So, if that shoe doesn't fit you, then you needn't take any offense whatsoever, because the comment wasn't directed at you. And it necessarily follows that no apology is necessary.
For those who have taken that position, however, get ready to snap to and do your patriotic duty.
And, BTW, it is certainly relevant to the subject of the "Office of the President-elect."
