Did the Holocaust Happen?

During the campaign I was discussing the middle East mess with someone and she brought up the topic of the holocaust and how it was created by the Jews to garner support for Israel during the early years of their statehood.

I am curious what the consensus is on this event. Was it real or not and if so what is your support pro or con? I have my own ideas from discussing it with many Germans while I lived in Germany. Though my belief in whether it did or didn't occur never changed, some of my opinions behind it certainly changed.

Unless you believe President Eisenhower was an evil liar, that alone should be your proof. Eisenhower toured the concentration camps & forced the nearby German civilians to walk though them....At gun point!


Based on my many posts tonight...I think I'll shut up for a while!!....Sorry.

My girlfriend's Dad was one of the men who had to bury the dead in outside of the camps after the Americans opened the camp. He is one of the most tortured souls I have ever met. He was an interesting man because he was born in 1929 and grew up thinking Hitler was a great man and was fully indoctrinated. He was a Hitler youth in Bremen before moving East and when the war was over, realized everything he believed in was based on a huge fabrication. I don't think he ever got over it really.

It abosolutely happened and asking whether it REALLY happened just adds insult to injury. Are you more likely to believe wwII heros who were there or the leader of a terrorist nation like Iran! Give me a break!

The mass mechanized murder is really well documented. The Germans were fanatics with records. There is no doubt,
regardless of what our middle eastern brothers may choose to believe.

It isn't just crazies in Iran who believe it was trumped up unfortunately. There is a large contingent in the US who believe otherwise. It is now over fifty years past. Most of the actual witnesses are long since passed.

Kootch, there are lots of people that believe the government is killing us with Chemtrails too. There are too many crazies out there. Here's a great example...

DAD HAS DEMONS

I have received a few PM's on this subject and want to point out my intention was not to diminish the experiences you or loved ones experienced during the war. My intent was to see what the general opinion of the group is on this subject after having this discussion with someone I know who believes it not to be true to the extent it has been reported. I disagree with her because of my discussions with people from the US and even Germans who had first hand knowledge of the carnage inflicted on these human beings. I was reading an article on CNN of a WWII survivor who was in a satellite camp and was discussing the demons he faces and thought it was a good subject to discuss on Veteran's Day.

While living in Germany, I don't know if you ever had the opportunity to visit Dachau. I did. Those life-size photographs left no doubt for me. I find it hard to believe that those photographs could have been faked and thousands of eyewitness accounts coerced (from German nationals, former guards and Allied soldiers). Maybe if Michael Moore and Mel Gibson collaborated, they could attempt to come up with a revisionist but unconvincing argument against the legitimacy and scope of the holocaust.

It happened without much doubt. For me the doubt lies in the number often quoted of six million. On the other hand the socialist killed 25 million in Russia, but you don't see that number bandied about by the leftist main stream media much. Why are Russians valued less than Jews? Another point I'll make is that I've read that some of the photos used to represent the holocaust are actually photos from the Russian massacre. To be honest I haven't done much research into either event but the next time you hear that the US government or the Fed is going to nationalize some private entity remember that the Nazis were National Socialist and the Russians were Communist.

Hmmm.....never heard anyone compare Stalin's "Great Purge" to the holocaust. Stalin primarily targeted people who opposed his attempt to quickly and brutally move Russia from an agrarian society to an industrial super power. His brutality was indiscriminate, crossing racial and religious lines. Whereas Hitler's extermination of the Jews was motivated by his distorted belief in their racial and religious impurity. While both "massacres" were unfathomable atrocities, every attempt has been made, in Russian society, to obliterate Stalin's name and legacy. The horror of the holocaust, however, is a mindset that still exists globally, the hatred of a people.....simply because of who they are....Jews.
