OK, is Hillary the next Sec'y of State?

... or is this a trial balloon until the vetting process discloses what never came out during her campaign?

... or is he just sending her out of town? ;)

I would think she would get the job since she greatly helped him get his job.

I was hoping were rid of the Clintons. It seems like they are like the gift that keeps on giving, kind of like an STD.

Our economy and the value of our pay checks were worth more when they were in charge before. I have no problem with making my money worth more then what it is now. This whole mess is going to get worst before it gets better, were still looking for the bottom and this week's news is only going to help us find it.

I can think of many people more qualified than Hillary for that position. She was first lady & has been a NY Senator....Big Deal....I'd like to see her on the Supreme Court to balance Scalia & Thomas, ......+ you get rid of her for life!

That's where I thought she'd be headed too. But there's no guarantee (1) that there'll be a vacancy right away, (2) that she'd get it (or even be his 1st choice), and (3) that she couldn't get it anyway, when a vacancy should occur, even if she's a cabinet member.

Besides, her "bad cop" could work well to offset his "good cop" in the diplomatic world.

They were in the right place at the right time, nothing more. The end of the cold war and the commericialization of the internet is what created prosperity in the 90's, not anything Clinton did or didn't do. He takes credit for balancing the budget but as I recall the republican congress had to drag him kicking and screaming to do it. Remember the federal government shutdown over that issue?

I can't stand HRC, but I think she would be a great SoS. She is tough when she needs to be and has a solid reputation outside of US borders and is well respected.

If Obama sticks to his tough vetting process, there's no way she will qualify due to Bills shady deals and shananigans. She's in no way qualified to be a supreme court judge.

Good god, Hillary is less qualified to be on the SCOTUS than Harrier Miers was.

She had a minimal legal career. She has done no legal scholarship. She's never taught constitutional law.

Hillary is in "No way" qualified to be a Supreme Court Justice? Roberts was an appeals judge before and before that was in private practise, and he is the Chief Justice. What about Thomas? He may be qualified by experience, but he is no bastion of legal theory or even thought as is evidenced by his legal (or lack of) writings from the bench. HRC was a lawyer ofr many years at the firm and was a very influential lawyer. I am not sure how she can be in "no way" qualified to be on the bench.

Correct. HRC is in no way qualified to be a supreme court justice.

She went to Yale law. She failed the DC bar but managed to pass the Arkansas bar.

She poked around in the small pond of the Arkansas legal community until Bill was elected AG of Arkansas. Two months after Bill became AG she was made an associate of Rose Law. Her next big step was two months after Bill was elected Governor of Arkansas. Lo and behold Rose made her a partner.

She was a Partner at Rose Law for 12 years. That's a big fish in the very small pond of the Arkansas legal community. There are THOUSANDS of lawyer in this country who are more qualified to be on the SCOTUS than she is.

Hillary has a lot of talents and skills, but she's not much of a lawyer.

I should have also said that legally, she's qualified because there are no constitutional requirements for the job, beieve it or not.
