New Pioneer BV stoker Jam...I think

So I just got this thing up and running , been working nicely for three days, going full tilt. Tonight I here a couple of
"bangs " down by the stove. Stoker seems to be jammed. It moves some then ....snap, oddly enough, hot fire. So,
I shut it down( bummer, it is cold here) after work, I will check it out. Do Ihave to break down stove to service stoker? I
am hoping it is just a piece of shale or something. Blower fan started a high pitched whine too. It was all going great, now
this......hope it is easy fix. I bought stove direct, so no dealer for help. Hoping I can mess with it with out breaking hole stove
apart...... A brand new stove......I am concerned.

Turned off stove, manually moved the feeder plate, seems to be o.k. now. Blower motor has a rattle that comes and
goes. Room that stove is in is clean, but I am wondering if dirt on the fan is causing this. More to learn

Some just have 2 nuts underneath and the stoker drops down, then you can slide the carpet (stoker) back and forth and pull it back and and forth and push down to clear underneath it. The plate can be pulled all the way back out of the stove, but you shouldn't have to pull that far back.

You may have gotten something under the plate, mine makes crunching or squeeking sounds when it happens.

Also, when you have the stoker motor out, check the pusher rod/bearing, make sure it didn't some loose from the motor shaft.

Thank You, I am getting the crunchy noise. I believe that I have only two nuts holding it up. I will shut it down, see if I get
lucky. Do you do this while it is running or shut it down cold?

I don't know about the Pioneer , but the Keystoker you have to shut it down , remove the coal from the hopper. Then drop out the stoker gear box and motor. Clean everything out and just put the push plate in and make sure it moves smoothly in and out. Then put it back together. Mine will get small fines on top off the push plate. If you don't keep them off , they will build up and start to jamb the plate. I use a metal scale I have about 1/16 thick , foot long and run it acorss the top of the plate once a week to keep it cleaned off while it's still in the stove.

It is working now, a little crunch here or there. The vibration noise that I hear from time to time is the stoker plate, so
something is under there. I am going to let it run today, and tonight I will shut it down and pull the plate and clean it up.
Hopefully, this will not be a regular routine. Notice paint gouged where the bearing pushes. That was the bang noise
I heard. The cam jumped the lip when the plate jammed. Hopefully, a simple fix. I will post tonight after the mix. If it
goes quick, hopefully I will not loose the fire.

You really don't have to shut it down, you can slide the plate out, but pushing it back and forth or back in can cause you to move the hot coals off the plate, so you may have to restart anyway.....

When putting it back in, make sure you hold it tight to the bottom when you slide it back in, so you don't get any small pieces caught under it....

Last night I had a chance to spend some time with the stove. Dropping the stoker motor took about 2 min. Pulled the plate
cleaned the slider track, put it back in, quiet as a mouse. Total time, 10 min. Simple is good.
