Thursday while scanning Craigslist, (Baltimore) I found an ad for "$400.00-$500.00 worth of coal for $100.00." I called the guy right away and was the first one to respond. He said the ad had only been up about 20 minutes. He bought a house and the previous owner heated with a coal stove which he took with him. He had left coal in a coal bin/shed at the end of the driveway. He didn't know anything about coal but described it as looking like shiney black gravel and was told by the previous owner it was 4-5 hundred worth. Anyway I went to get it today. It filled 78 (5) gallon buckets (I knew they were going to come in handy :D ) so it was just about a ton and a half. Not quite the deal I thought I was getting but not bad at all. It is very shiney like glass and is a large gauge rice. Most of the rice I have ever purchased has alot of real tiny pieces in it too. This does not. Hopper was low late this afternoon so I poured in two buckets full. I'm anxious to see how it burns, red or white ash, etc. The guy said he had about 20 calls. :P
