Daily Consumption & Stats

I live in NY and the last week we have seen temps in the 20's with high in the 30's. I thought it might be interesting to post the following info: (cut and past my info and just add your own stats.

Stove: Alaska Channing
Average daily low & high temps over the last 5 days: 20f-35f
Square footage of home: 2000
Coal used: Kimmels Rice
How well insulated is your home from 1-5. 3
Temp of the room that the stove is in: 74-77
Daily usage: 50lbs.

How well insulated is your home from 1-5. 3-4...house was all electric heat when built in 1986
Temp of the room that the stove is in: 70-72
Daily usage: 20-30lbs.

stove_ clayton 1600 hot air furnace 2000 sq ft house stone with block back up ; no insulation in walls ; attic has r 30 put in last year;avg temp outside low 24/32 high 34/ 40 temp inside a balmy 74/80 burnin bought 70 lbs a day . shake down at 5am and 5pm adding new coal each time. new at this if i would have known how easy an hot coal is would have done it long ago!!!!!!! next year maybe a stoker/boiler then no more oil !!!! still need that for hot water. you guys are great /thanks for all the help youve provided !!!! my wife keeps opening the front door an putting the screen down !!!! ha !!! TOMMY in valley forge pa

Daily usage: 80-120 pounds (est. 5 gallon bucket @ 40lbs)

It's only Thanksgiving!! and I'm burning like it's January !

Stove; AxemanAnderson 260 boiler
Avg low/high's: 10's/20's
Square footage: 4000sq.ft house, 2400sqft shop
Coal used: Superior Pea
How well insulated 1-5: house= 1-3, shop= 0.5
Temp of room stove is in: outdoor boiler building
Rest of the house: 65-70*
Daily usage: 100-120#

How well insulated 1-5: house= 2
Temp of room stove is in: basement is 65*F, no jacket on boiler
Rest of the house: 73* downstairs, 70* F upstairs
Daily usage: 60-80#

The garage:

Avg low/high's: 10's/20's
Square footage: 1,000 sq.ft garage with 13' ceilings
Coal used: Superior/Summit/UAE Buckwheat blend
How well insulated 1-5: garage = 3
Temp of room stove is in: 65*F
Rest of the house: N/A
Daily usage: 40-60#
