Yet three years later & we all have our guns & ammo & the NRA had a bunch of new dues paying members, the gun shops all darn near sold out, all that old ammo is long gone. Might it be that the 3 yr. memberships are over, the gun shops are over stocked & it's time to make some more money, hold on to your guns & buy everything you can the lefties are coming.

How 'ya been Sam ? Hope Christmas was good to you and yours. I like your post. Actually, primers have come down just a bit in price, but ammo price is still up and it's still tough keeping stock on shelves. Mr.Obama has been the best gun salesman since the team of Chuck Schumer and Ted Kennedy. The NRA seems to be going full steam ahead, but they're only meeting the threat posed on our Country's Sovereignty and 2nd Amendment Rights. As usual,Sam,our whole Freedom to have this conversation has been provided by Combat Veterans,of which you are one. In my book, that has earned you the right to do it your way. Irregardless of what Constitutional Rights we've been given at birth, all Combat vets have made the paper it's written on worth it's weight & more in gold.....Thanx & enjoy the New Year !

Oh,I forgot....The lefties aren't coming, they're here! The sad fact is they've been here forever. They will continue to be here. It seems to keep the money-making fight between the Right and left in a perpetual-pitched battle mode. We will all survive, and the fight will go on.

Happy New Year to you as well Bob, don't know where you shop but I've seen no shortages, I don't reload so can't say about primers. Couple of days ago I was looking at paper work that wasn't needed any longer & found that last year I sold almost 300 rifles, only 10 handguns &untold amt. of ammo Including primers, power ,casings & presses & dies. Kept that stuff to CMA just incase. The way people shoot around here there sure isn't a shortage. Oh yea, don't you think it would be the ones that make the $s that would be creating scares about shortages? Seems like the gangbangers in Erie have plenty of ammo I would imagine that Cleveland & all bigger cities to be pretty much the same. My guess is they don't even care what someones political views are.

Yeah,Sam,believe it or not,at these elevated prices some calibers have seemed short to me: .223,.308 and 7.62x39non corrosive seemed thin. No doubt that you're right about those holding cash cows trying to elevate their item worth. Problem is that as long as we can't trust Washington,or for that matter, our own local government's veiled anti-gun agenda, these trends will continue. Money is made on both sides of the 2nd Amendment Issue, and in my eyes,it's going to end badly for those here in the U.S.trying to do what England and Australia have done to their gun owners.

They would have a really hard time in the majority of areas(not the ones with most population)to even try to explain(lie)about how we would be protected if anything should happen. The last time someone in this area called 911 for an officer they were connected to a state cop in pursuit on Rt. 79 & he said he would get back, two days later they got a call asking if they still needed an officer. Everyone in these parts look out for their neighbors as well as themselves.

Sam, you are an enigma rapped in a riddle! :gee:

Incrementally we are loosing our rights in many ways, not just our 2A rights. When you have to ask permission to exercise a right, it isn't a right anymore but a privilege. If you accept that it is only a matter of time that right, morfed into a privilege, will be denied. The National Firearms Act of 1934, the Gun Control Act of 1968,and the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994 all Infringe upon our Second Amendment rights and would be declared unconstitutional if we had judges that where not politically motivated. The sad thing is most people have accepted out "rights" being made conditional and pretend they are still "Rights" . The 2nd Amendment hangs by a thread.

That all may well be true Cokehead but it wasn't Obama's doing, as I see it we don't need even half of the gun laws we have, we only need to enforce the ones that would be left.. Just about every law gun or otherwise came into effect because of an A**hole or group of them doing something to cause major uproar so instead of finding & punishing them they end up with the law to end all laws to appease the masses. What the masses don't realise that a criminal doesn't care about the law, they will do the crime no matter what & take their chances.

As I see it Obama is just a cog in a larger machine. I am not saying he brought on what has happened over the last 77 years but he has done nothing of real substance to set it right either. Even my beloved President Reagan put a nail in the coffin of the Second Amendment. I'm having a hard time with that. At his point, I can't find anyone that makes Constitutional muster in recent history. It seems to me both the Dems and Republicans are destroying our Republic with debt and regulation which overrides our Constitutional Rights and promote economic policies which are suicidal. It is all shades of gray. Trying to find a scapegoat isn't productive. Striking down un-Constitutional laws is but I don't see enough outrage over what is to make it happen.

Your right IMO that there is a much larger machine & I have been saying all along that the present political system is all bought & paid for, if you get a couple in that try & do right it's like being a good cop in a totally corrupt system, sooner or later they will wear you down. I hate to keep saying it because so many refuse to believe it or want to hear it, it's all greed driven greed for power & money, follow the money & you will find the big machine.

I worded that imprecisely. I was thinking "Presidents" that held office.

The whole "Project Gunrunner" / " Fast 'n' Furious" debacle, all done just to force dealers to report to the government multiple sales of long guns, should tell you Obama's stance on the 2nd Amendment. That, and the appointments of Sotomayor & Keagan to the highest court in the land. With their 2nd Amendment records alone, that tells me all I need to know about Obama's agenda.
