When did we stop judging people by the company they keep? I know....I know....none of the guys mentioned above did any of the things they are famous for while President deflect was in the room or he wasn't old enough or he was not aware of........stay tuned!

They held up Rezco's sentencing to put the squeeze on Blogo. If either of these guys start singing, who wants to lay odds on another "Vince Foster incident" in the near future?

Sort of.......my wishful thinking is that there is still some justice in the world and the Bed Wetting Liberals and media will finally realize how foolish they were by letting President deflect get a free pass during the election.

Although she's married to Edwin Schlossberg, her name has always been Caroline Kennedy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caroline_Kennedy As the Wiki article shows, she surely is a legacy but not an empty one: she's a lawyer, author and public activist -- and she didn't start doing those things yesterday.

Nonetheless, even though nearly everybody is more qualified than Sarah Palin, you're not the only one concerned that Caroline doesn't have the political credentials to assume a U.S. Senate seat. OTOH, politics is full of such stories: for example, was her cousin-in-law, Ahhhnold the Governator, "qualified" to become Governor of California? How do you think he's done?

The bottom line is that the only risk to Democrats of appointing her is that she could lose the election to keep her seat in 2010. But the flipside is that she'd have two years to prove herself worthy of keeping it and she's smart enough to know to take full advantage of that interval.

Oh, and she probably won't have trouble raising the money for her campaign.

I would prefer Cuomo because he has more experience in the political world, is very intelligent and presents very well. Kennedy does not speak well in public. She seems so damned shy. Can't say I blame her, but this is a public office and I want to hear what they have to say without turning the volume up 10 notches on the radio to hear.

I don't think anyone one in the house or senate is quailified. 2 terms out the door. Retirement 1/4 of your pay. Why is there no movement in this country to push for term limits. It's only way to fix this country and get it back on the right track.

One easy fix would be to limit political donations only from the district that a senator or representative is from. That would pretty much eliminate most of the special interest BS going on. Unfortunately that would leave our poor congress critters hungry and on the street, so there is now way they would make such a simple contribution to the well being of the nation.

Unfortunately, the side-effect of that strategy would be that only the rich would hold political office, because "self-funding" has been held to be a constitutional right.

Most folks think that might not be a good thing.

And I happen to agree that Andrew Cuomo would be a better pick for NY Senator than Caroline, at least on "Day One." Plus, he'll probably run against Gov Paterson if he doesn't get it, while she likely won't. So that's gotta be one thing on the Gov's mind....

I'd prefer to have self financed over corporate whores.

There's merit to that, but the risk is that the Senate becomes sort of a "House of Lords." And don't forget, many of the people who can self-finance are the "whores" of but one corporation: their own.
