We Lost a Good Man!
Just a note to let all in Upstate NY know of the passing of Charlie Dennis of Dennis Coal and Stove in Fabius. I only met Charile a couple of times while ordering our furnace, but he made everyone feel like his old friend. He will be missed...
Was he one of the older guys, the dad maybe? thats where I bough mine.
I didn't think Charlie was that old.I just talked to him a few weeks ago when I was thinking about switching from a hand fed to a stoker furnace. The man sure did know coal burning.I thought he was my age mid 50s.

I bought my Hitzer from Mr. Dennis, and did it by following his advice for my situation. Very knowledgible man. I got to talk to him for a while at his display booth at the state fair, I had no idea he was becoming so ill. Yes, he will be missed. Hope his family will keep the business he started going.

Charlie Dennis started 24 years ago with 6 tons of rice coal wondering if he could sell it in a season! Word was he was moving 6000 tons per season in the later years. There was no one in Central New York who knew more about stoves or the business. Charlie helped many manufactures with design suggestions, and honest feedback. It was with his critique and input that we developed the Coal-trol. I was lucky to know Charlie for about 7 years. He was wise, honest, generous, creative, and a friend. I will always be greatful for having had the opportunity to know him.
