That is a problem there.
Can you put some foil over it and then check your manometer reading at the coal stove?

Of course now the oil furnace baro is staying closed now. The average daily temp for November in my area was 36 Deg F. Have to see what happens as the temps drop and the stove fires a little more. See if things change then. Like you said a large chimney may be the cause right now.

Can the flames off the coal be an indicator of how well the stove is drafting or the coal is burning. Mots of my flame appears top be yellowish. I see allot of blue flames in the avatar pics on the board........

No humidity in the hopper or on the bottom of the hopper cover.

How tall is your chimney from the thimble to the top of it?
