After reading some threads on food (sauerkraut, jerky, etc) it occurs to me that out of this group of self-sufficient guys and gals there are probably a fair number of good cooks. I'm always looking for new and different recipes. I'll start. Post 'em if you got 'em.

BBQ Bacon-Wrapped Water Chestnuts
1 lb Bacon (Turkey or Regular)
2 can Whole Water Chestnuts (about 4 or 5 ounces each)
1 Bottle BBQ sauce (I use Sweet Baby Ray's) or your own BBQ Sauce
Buncha wooden toothpicks

Oven 350*

Drain water chestnuts. Cut largest pieces in half.
Cut each slice of bacon into 1/3rds.
Wrap one sliced piece of bacon around each water chestnut. Secure with toothpick. Arrange in a 9" x 13" baking dish. I usually have a few slices of bacon left over.
Pour BBQ sauce over all.
Bake uncovered at 350* for 50 - 60 minutes, or until bacon gets a little crispy and dark.

Take this to a holiday party and I can almost guarantee that they will go first.
