And, while it's kind of you to point out the potentially personal connection with some of the emotional generalizations which are cast about from time to time here (as they are elsewhere), I don't take them personally, at least in part because nobody here has ever been either a client or adversary of mine.
The statute you found is interesting. More and more forums are requiring people to use their real ID's because it tends to dampen some of the "hot language" which can get thrown around when people feel they can remain anonymous. And, in the case of the teen suicide, one might reasonably conclude that, if the teen had known that the harasser was her neighbor's mother, things likely would have been stopped sooner, and if the mother had known that her identity was going to be exposed, she would have been deterred from the despicable course of harassment which brought about the suicide.
