Reading JUNIATA COAL FUSING

Hi We have a reading Juniata stove at work having problem fusing on grate coal comming off in ash pan in sheets....when it does this stove looses tremendous amount of heat and sometimes goes out.....we are also using a leisurline hyfire and a keystoker stoker also all work good except this reading stove.......can anyone give me answers or suggestions....we called reading company they sound like they don't want to help and say there stove is working .......

If the coal is working fine in your other stoves, you may have too much combustion air on the grate or too much draft. Have you check it and set your baro damper correctly?

It is burning too hot and fusing the coal together, does your combustion blower have an inlet cover, maybe tape part of it off to reduce the air flow maybe put a rheostat on the blower?

My hyfire and keystoker will do that when it's really cold out and the draft is really pulling hard on the stove, I will get the "Coal Cakes" forming, but never has it jammed, it usually just falls off the grate in a pile.

Could the be design of the grate/ash pan location, maybe not enough room for them to fall off the grate.
