gettin my alaska ready to fire up.......i installed a seperate dayton 49 cfm combustion motor
my question is do I need a rheostat on the combustion motor or do I plug the motor directly into the coal-trol........i hope this motor quiets down a bit after it is run a while, it's a bit loud.......i also installed a dayton 3m095 gear motor......i make some linkage but it still needs tweaking, the rod is rubbing the stove when it comes around......i like matthaus's stoker rod setup but I couldnt find anything like that locally......i need to get this sucker running......burning 2-3 gallons of kerosene daily sucks

It should be fine if it is the one rated for the combustion blower. You might want to check to make sure it the correct airflow.

I know I replaced one on my Hyfire with too MUCH CFM and it would burn WAY hotter and give me clinkers....it has have a certain amount of airflow, if it does, just put a rheostat on it to slow it down a bit or if it has and intake plate, you can always block part of it off....

the original triburner fan was something like 38 cfm......this seperate fan is 49 cfm.....the smallest I could find without being undersized....i put a knockout plug in the hole where the triburner motor shaft used to come thu to keep the dirt out of the gear motor......i have alot of money tied up in this stove.....i am getting nervous

Scott, as Dave said the fan will be fine, don't worry be happy. :D At that low an SCFM you can use an inlet plate or even aluminum tape over the inlet to tune it if need be. But my feeling is that 49 SCFM is going to be perfect.

When you come to pick up the Coal-Trol we'll get you fixed up with a good setup for your linkage, just bring the stoker motor, linkage, and bracket. :)

Run it and see what happens, going a little over CFM may not be too bad. Just keep an eye on your ash and see what's it doing....I think mine was like almost double CFM 50-60, recommended was like 29-35 CFM.

All depends on the stove and how's its designed....each one can be slightly different.
