Suggestions for a Logo design

Suggestions for a Logo design

PostBy: Richard S. On: Sun Dec 07, 2008 10:01 pm

I've been considering what to do for a logo and I'm opening this topic up for suggestions. I'm looking for suggestions and concepts, I'm not very creative but once given and idea I can run with it. :D . I need one that defines NEPA crossroads and not coal. So far I've been considering maybe a crossroads with a mountain back drop.

One thing to keep in mind is the rules of making a logo, it should be simple and easily identifiable.... Look at the icons on your desktop to see what I mean.

Feel free to post any ideas, images or sketches but keep in mind that I'm only looking for a rough draft or ideas if you want to spend the time trying to create something.

A lump of anthracite with an exclamation point after it maybe. Something with trains?

I'm not good at making artwork, but how about a keystone, with a sketch/picture/graphic of a crossroad intersection in it?

I was thought of that or a outline of the sate with maybe nepa highlighted. Other ideas I had were with a sign near the crossroads with a

NEW York Sate 100 miles
Ohio 300 miles

etc but that might be too busy.

The NEPA logo overlayed with a proverbial highway cloverleaf with something like "your ramp to the information highway"?

That sounds cool.

How about a small outline of Pa, with the NE area highlighted, with a set off crossroads overlayed, with the center being NEPA???

Let the roads span into "not pictured" other states....

Color filled in state of PA showing I-80, I-81, and I 476 (N-S Turnpike) with big star (or keystone) at the proximity of their intersection.

Add letters as you see fit.

Richard: What are your dimensions for the logo? Same as the banner above (511x100) with a black fade to right for the burning coal? Or something else?

Well the dimensions are not set in stone as I'll need a few different versions. Specifically I need something that will fit into an 16X16 icon well. :P

Hence the need for something simple. Fro example the AHS logo would work nicely for that because you could remove the text and just use the arrows yet still know its the AHS logo or just add the AHS as an overlay...
