Cleanout Tee Cap

My cap twists on underneath, but it didnt come with a plate to lock it on. What would happen if the cap fell off the tee?

Where's it mounted? It could have exhaust gas escape, but it might just act like a baro damper and suck the cool air into it and decrease your draft on your stove and possible CO into the house.!! :!:

Just put a couple pieces of the silver HVAC tape on it, that will hold it. Or a couple screws.

Its on, but its not permanent. I will put the tape on like you said.

It is my understanding that all joints in the smoke pipe system should be secured with at least three screws in order to meet safety and code requirements.
