Question? EFM and Allen?????

Question? EFM and Allen?????

PostBy: Barnzy On: Wed Dec 10, 2008 7:47 pm

A few months back I had the chance to get an Allen Coal Stoker, free of charge
from a friend I do work for who is a Professional House Flipper.
He bought a house from the Bank, house was froze up, all cast iron radiators popped,
so he was putting in electric heat.
This Allen looked so much like an EFM, but with the Allen name on the round door.
Did EFM have anything to do with the manufacture of Allen, or make parts for them?
Allens were made in Allentown not too far from Emmaus :?:
I declined on the free offer.

Worked on an Allen years ago but don't remember much about it.

I would guess that back in the heydays of coal stokers, everybody and their brother saw the EFM in action and said " I can build one of them myself" and proceeded to profit off of the EFM design. That's just my speculation

Its true one that comes to mind is the VAN WERT similar pot design but couldnt handle burning different sizes of coal. Transplanted many S20's into them with great results.
