Hot Air Coal Stoker Stove: Alaska Channing 111
Coal Size/Type: Rice Anthracite

Time for another silly question. My Channing 111 has a 265 CFM fan which can be only be set from low to high. It seems that I have been using more coal than I thought I would considering it has not been extremely cold these last two days. I was wondering it the stove would use more coal the higher the fan is set, I have been running the fan on high and have been using about 60 lbs. a day, a while back we had a few cold days in the teens and I was using the same amount.

Normally the Convection blower shouldn't affect the coal usage, it should be based on feed rate and temp. YEs, will wash wash teh stove and the stove will have to burn hotter to keep the same temp. Try it on Low and see what happens.
