Question RE Gasket or Seal on Ash Door on Viking

Hi all,

I was just wondering what I can use to better seal the ash door on my Viking Jr. boiler. The door closes and latches correctly but there is still a slight gap around he door, approx. 1/16 to 1/8 inches wide. Is there something I can purchase to seal the door? Currenly there is no seal in place.

They make a rope gasket material (for wood stoves) in many different thicknesses. Thats what I used on my stove, the doors either didn't have gaskets or missing.

I believe there is also a flat type gasket material similar to the rope, which might work also!
