I am doing the lay-out for my Alaska 140 and I was wondering about some pics and advice about a return air"plenum" with a filter rack. Anyone have some they want to show offf??
Also I am getting ready to pick-up a set of power shears to do the sheetmetal fab. Though I do not like Harbor Freight I will go with these for this 1x project.
Also since most ductwork has "snap together" corners, that I will not be able to duplicate, how would you do the corners?

I usually clamp a couple peices of wood (2x4 or whatever you have) and put the sheet metal in it and just bend it and hammer it flat.....

While you're at listing duct fab stuff, (I'm hitching onto Kunger's request) how about a list of essential tools for ductwork. Hints too please.

As for making the corners the idea of bending sounds good. How about fastening the parts together? Zip screw, pop rivets?

put in self tap sheet metal screws, easy and if you ever have take it apart, also tape the seams with the silver foil type tape, "duck" tape usually doesn't stick after a while.
