has anybody converted a Harman hand fired boiler over to some type of a stoker . im thinking that I can go thru the door and still have it open .Using a new fabbed door and some kind of chute with a hopper and a short auger ,im not looking to make this full auto just extend the burn times longer. It seems that im a slave to this I load at 10pm and if im not down there loadin again at 5am im in trouble. im heating a 3000 sf shop with in floor heat. I know now that I need more water storage due to the fact when it calls for heat it will knock down the boiler 50 plus degrees and I also think that will help to with the burn times. This is located at my business and sometimes its hard to be here that many times a day . Tried to buy a stoker this summer but you guys know that story none to be had.

I think you are going to be better off waiting till spring/summer and finding a stoker boiler.. then selling your hand feed boiler.
You could possibly make a flat bed stoker work.. mound the stoker so it was a plug-type door, have a mount made on wheels to support the weight of the stoker and the hopper.. the combined weight will be at least 250-350#, so you must make a sturdy base on wheels for it.. You will need to wheel it back to access the ashpan door.. The various stoker sizes are on the Keystoker website.
I converted my hand feed to a stoker, but used an antique Iron Fireman stoker unit.. put it on wheels and left an opening for the ashpan door and pan in the structure supporting the stoker.
