I would like to buy a manometer. In your opinion, what style, and brand, would you recommend? Would you go with the single probe, or double probe? It would be used mainly for checking chimney drafts. Thanks

Go to Cole-Parmer.com and search Manometers.

They have many to choose from...

The dwyer mark II model 25 for About $40. with Shipping works very well.

The price can go up to about $3,000.

Yes, the Dwyer Mark II model 25 is what most of us use on here, you can search on Ebay or just a Google search, there are many places that carry them, around $25-40. Also, do a search on here, we have posted many websites that carry them too.

Read thru this thread, it will give you some ideas, etc...

For you manometer people out there, took and put a piece of alum foil over my barometer usually set for .06, got .10 and on some wind gusts got .13, then foil was removed. Interesting test.

Yes, because the baro controls the draft of the stove, when you block the extra air from the room, your draft on your stove goes up, then when it's really cold and your stove is really cranking, I bet you will get even more draft.... :)

That's why its good to have a baro damper, otherwise you suck all that extra heat up your chimney.....
