Hot Air Coal Stoker Stove: Alaska Channing III

Post by GettingStoked » Sun. Dec. 28, 2008 9:36 am

I know this has been discussed, and I tried to locate the topic but was unsuccessful. I've been burning now for about 3 months, and for the most part using the ash in the driveway for grit... We have had some warmer weather as of late with rain, and for the first time really looked at my driveway. I thought I was dumping completely burnt coal into the driveway, but it looks now like it was burnt on the outside but not all the way through, and the rain has reveled this. My driveway is now littered with tiny black pieces of coal... Is this par for the course or should I be looking for a new coal dealer?

That';s typical, you will always have some unburnt, I get it in both my Hyfire and Keystoker.

Your driveway is sparkling with black gold. It could be slate, bone or unburnt coal.
