The Judge
Anybody look at the judge pistol from Taurus? my sister in law was given one by her boss as a christmas present. Pretty awsome!! anything that can fire a 45 or a 410 shotgun shell is pretty good in my book. But the gun banners will be real pissed at this one before to long!!!

I wanted to buy one as soon I I saw it advertised in one of my NRA mags but unfortunately it is not for sale in MA.

Check out American Rifleman January 2009. They have The Taurus Judge, .45 Colt/ .410 Shotshell, on the front cover.danzig wrote:Anybody look at the judge pistol from Taurus? my sister in law was given one by her boss as a christmas present. I wonder if anyone here has actually fired one? Looks like it would kick like a mule!
(I remember back in my DEA training days, we fired the complete 50 round "Combat Course" with our (light framed) .38's using "SuperVel" ammunition one day & we all had bruised hands for a week!)

Hi Devil,
The Taurus Judge is not that bad on recoil.. The .45 Colt is a very low pressure round. Winchester and Remmington factory loads are under 14,000# Psi. This is done because of all the old Colt SAA. revolvers from 1873 to pre WWI ( not very strong).
I have a Taurus Tracker .45 Colt only, made on the same basic frame size, 5 round capacity etc.. in Stainless steel.
The recoil is like a 1911 .45 ACP, lots of fun to shoot!!

The Judge is a nice piece but I put it in the same catagory as my dessert eagle. a wee bit big for normal use like my performance hunter s&w 500 . a colector piece and unique hand gun built for a purpose.

The Judge is a nice gun. The recoil isn't very bad. I may have to get one for myself.
