Eagles SuperBowl Run.....

Eagles SuperBowl Run.....

PostBy: billlindley On: Fri Jan 02, 2009 12:39 pm

The Eagles are capable of running the table. It always happens when you least expect it. I think they beat the Vikings pretty easily. Then it is off to New York where I think they can pull out a close one. That would leave Either Carolina or Atlanta (I hold no hope for the Cardinals) in which case I like the Eagles chances. If they make it to the Bowl I like their chances against everyone except the Colts. Peyton still scares me.

A few reasons I think they may do well:

• Donovan is trying to prove something
• It’s the last hurrah for Runyan and Thomas probably
• The Phillies defied the odds, why not the Eagles
• I always get drawn in only to be let down once again

3 more wins to go......

Although I am skeptical at this point after watching their offense yesterday. Even Westbrook mentioned in an interview after the game they weren't doing much offensively, they were just not screwing up and turning the ball over too much. Defensively they have been playing very well the last 6 weeks.

Against the G-men, I think they will have to run the ball much better than they did against the Vikings in order to win.

When was the last time the Eagles won the Superbowl? All I recall are a couple of losses 25 years apart. I still think the Ny defense will hammer the Philly offense. I hope I am wrong, I am a Pats fan.

Technically, never.

They won a championship back in 1960 or somewhere around there but that was before the "Super Bowl"

Sorry to say it, being a Syracuse law alum, but Donovan's just not proven himself to be a "money" player. "Choker" is much too strong but he just doesn't seem to have his best games when they're most needed.

And the Iggles have been breaking hearts for as long as I can remember, which is back to the "Joe Must Go" days. Hell, they've even driven some of their owners insane! Jerry Wolman? Leonard Tose?

But the bright side is certainly the D. How can you not like Brian Dawkins? Guy is like a cruise missile.

I've always been an Iggles fan, wherever I've lived, and I hope they prove me wrong -- but I'm not counting on it.

Got the Colts wrong, and the Cardinals. Shows how much I know.

Week 2 predictions:

Eagles over New York in a very tight game
Carolina over Atlanta

San Diego over Pittsburgh
Baltimore over Tennessee

Well, Bill, can't very well pick against the Eagles, can you? I mean, living as you do in "Eagleville." :D

In honor of their 13-11 lead and in hope of a victory over the hated "G-strings", I'm drinking a liter of delicious Ommegang 10th Anniversary "Chocolate Indulgence" 7% ale -- out of my ancient ceremonial Eagles beer glass.

Oooh, Eli just made that completion to Hixson. Damn. :mad2:

23-12. Had to take 3 with 1st and goal on the 1.

The lack of the "killer instinct" has always been what troubles me about them Iggles. :secret:
