My feeder rod came out a few weeks ago, and the end looked stripped, so I bought some "all-thread" and cut it to the same length - it went in no problem. This worked for about 2-3 weeks. But, this morning, the same thing. Only this time, it really doesn't look stripped. It seems like I can not get it to screw in.

I even cussed it, for about 20 minutes, but it still wouldn't go...

Question- Could the hole it screws into be stripped? If it is then what????

Also, I am missing the small black adjuster plate that goes on the rod between the rod sleeve and the wing nut.
Any suggestions on what to use as a replacement?

Yes it could be stripped and if it is you can put a helicoil insert in the hole to repair the damaged threads.Sears did have the kits as I got one there (years ago ) for a 5/16 NC thread which is what you have with the Verti Flow rod.I needed one for my snowblower starter mount.

When you make an adjustment make sure the lever is turning on the threads and not the rod turning out of the block hole, once it is loose it can walk out.

For the lever you could just use a 5/16 nut till you get or make a new one.You will still need to lock it up with the wing nut.You can get an idea what your adjustment is by watching the arrow on the right side of the feeder as it sweeps under the dots.

Here is a place to get a helicoil kit if you can't find one local.

I have actually had the same problem. Try to screw it in easily. It takes only a few turns, maybe one or two... Maybe oil it a little bit.
If you try to turn it too much or too hard, it may slip out...as king arther would say "A slow andeasy hand rules the land..."
let me know if this helps
