I have reinstalled the pusher block after cleaning it but now I can't seem to get a maximum feed rate. I have the nut turned all the way clockwise but still only getting a travel of 1and 1/2 dots. Any suggestions? Thanks

Take it apart again.
When I installed mine It did the same thing.
Watch out how you put that rod through.

Salemcoal...When you tried to run the unit and the pusher block was stuck, the piece that looks like a two prong fork has been spread apart. Take it apart and remove that fork. The prongs should be parrallel. I bet you find they are not. Sit it on a concrete surface and "adjust" it with a hammer until they are parrallel again. That should resolve your problem and give you full travel.

Thanks CoalKirk, I'll try it. Had a good fire when I started it but it can seem to push any coal onto the carpet.

Just took it apart and it is not parallel . the top prong is bent up. I cant believe the Dayton motor bent the steel instead of burning out.

Those geared motors are very powerful. Don't get your finger caught in there.

Isn't this Forum the best? No, it's the people that run it and the members that are the best!

It happened to my stoker. It didn't sieze but I think it digested a rock or small piece of wood. Just enough to jamb it and bend the forks. I didn't know anything had happened but suddenly noticed that it wasn't feeding coal like it should. I spent the better part of a Sunday staring at the mechinism as it operated trying to figure out why it wasn't moving like it used to. (I'm not an engineer) Many hours and beers later it hit me what was wrong. I couldn't believe that those forks could be bent and it is pretty subtle. But it's just enough to knock it out of adjustment. Glad your backup and running. I HATE to hear about oil burners running.

Hi Guy's
I have a question about what lubricant to use on the bearings for VF3000 stoker feeder?
I'm guessing straight 30 weight?
Thanks

I am useing simple 3 in 1 household oil. Those bearings are just a cheap bushing style and don't have much movement.

30 weight is better but the 3 in 1 goes down a straw nice,--- any lube is better then none.
