Installation looks professionally done. You sure you don't put duct work in for a living. It looks better than some of the contractor jobs I've seen. Good job!! :)

Wow thats nice! One small suggestion, see if you can find a HVAC supply store close and get the fabric damper material to isolate the noise between the ducts to your stove and where you cut into the existing ducts. I don't know how to take a picture and draw on it to let you see what I mean, but I'm sure somebody else will help with that. You really do good work!

I know what product you mean. They had it at the HVAC Supply but only in 100 foot rolls. So I decide to forgo it.

Nicely done.

I assume this pic was before the finished work?

Did you get the fire settings sorted out?

Beatifully done. I just had the same furnace installed. Can anyone help me?? I am having trouble keeping the furnace going for more than a day and a half. We are only using one hopper and have everything else set on low because it IS a 170,000 BTU furnace!! Anyway, it lights fine, with a flame of about a foot high and stays that way give or take depending on the thermostat however the last two times we had it going, after a day and a half, it dies down and goes out. I have tried opening the damper, the bottom door to no avail. Any advice?? Thank you.

As far as the fire settings I have the Idle set fine and I have been tinkering with the T'stat setting. It seems that the temp in the room,at the thermostt, is running about 5-6 degrees higher. So I am not sure what's up with that. Also I still am fussing with the Limit controls.

Looks good!

Temperature - Do you mean the setpoint vs. Room temperature? Or the actual temp vs. another thermostat?

Are you using the Coaltrol? There is a way to change the BIAS on it to match your room temperature. Let me know, we discussed this in the CoalTrol Section.

Just got home and saw your post.

It is the setpoint vs. Room Temperature on the new thermostat. The room temp is showing the same on more than one thermometer also .
I am not using the Coal-trol as it did not come with it. I may in the future.
Would like to discuss more about the Fan Limit Switch. I may post this later.
Thanks,
Tom

So, you are saying the temperature on the Alaska Thermostat (What kind? A round one?) is not matching your other thermostats?

Kungur-
Looks good. What are you doing to prevent backflow into your existing gas furnace that is in line with your stoker? I'm preparing to tap my Keystoker just above my furnace, but am wondering how to keep the air flowing the proper direction so I don't loose any volume at the registers.

Alaska supplied me witha Luxpro brand thermostat. I adjusted the "anticipator" setting and I have narrowed the gap to about 2 degrees.
Most likely I will be upgrading to a Honeywell programable.

I am going to install a backdraft damper in the "old" furnace plenum. This will then isolate it but I will have "2" sysytems. I put a slide damper in the plenum of my Alaska. So the Alaska will be a manual damper and the "old" furnace will be a counter weighted backdraft damper. If you would like more info PM me.
