Measuring BTU's ?

So is there a way to measure how many BTU's our units are putting out?

If you know much coal you are using per hour/day etc...you can probably calculate it out.

With boiler, yes. If you know the actual water flow rate through the boiler. Multiply the water flow in lbs./hour by the temperature rise. That will give the output. Input is higher, since burning fuel isn't 100% efficient. But, its easier said than done.

also you will need to know what the BTUH Your coal is Per lb Here the coal can range from 12.900 BTUH Per lb
Up To 13.800 Per lb
