In the spring we are going to purchase a wood /coal burning furnace to heat our house, we currently heat with natural gas. we would like to get an add on furnace but we really dont know what to get and what to stay away from or what we need to look for. What do you guys reccomend?

First list the specs of your current furnace (hot air, hot water, etc..), house size, insulation, etc...

There are Numerous ones available in both Forced air and boiler type. Since you put WOOD/Coal, that would limit your choices, if you want straight coal, you have many more choices (either hand fed, Stoker, Furnace and/or Boilers).

My place is 1675 sq. ft. & I use the Logwood. LOVE IT. Just make sure you get the boiler model & save a ton of more money........
