I feel sorry for the kid being stuck with that name. It's a free country and parents are allowed to do as they may even if they are frickin *censored**es

Those people are white trash and the kids would be better of with out them! Those kids are going to have a tough life with those names.

To give a kid that name is abuse in the first place.

The story isn't that the idiot parents gave their kids stupid names. It's that the state came in and took them and didn't give a reason. That should horrify all of us far more than the names.

Uhhhh, the state didn't give a reason for taking the kids to whom? The parents know darn well why they took the kids, and whatever the reason is, it isn't our business. They did say it wasn't because of the names and the interviews with mom published appear to confirm that.

Would you want the state of wherever you live discussing your family situation in the media?

The quote I read in the paper from a state spokesman was that they were not taken because of their names but didn't state why. Having said that they better have a damn good reason because taking someone kids just because of the names they were given is not an adequate reason. As much as I'd like to slap the parents up side the head they have every right to name their kids that.

My buddy knows a divorced woman that has a four year old son. She left the kid with her boyfriend, and came back and the kid had a welt on his head. I think her boyfriend was just playing with the kid, it was an accident. I think her ex got wind of it and she ended up getting dragged into court over it. They wanted to make this kid ,who is a baby, testify. Even though the mom has a bachelor's in mathematics and is trying, none of them is the brightest star in the sky. Point is, DYFS will act if there is an accusation, even if it is unsubstantiated.

They have to investigate for the protection of the kid - what if the unsubstantiated claim turned out to be true?

NJ has had a couple of child deaths if I recall where they kind of blew off "unsubstantiated claims" only to have a dead child on their hands a few months later.

I didn't mean to sound anti-DYFS. The DYFS lady made the girl cry according to him. Really gave her a hard time. But I understand they are overworked, understaffed, etc. I used to fix up houses out that way in Phillipsburg. I've seen human beings living in absolute squalor, worse than animals.

The police have said no accusations have been made.

Do you remember WHY they did that? Did the state say why?

Yes, they did. And if a case such as this, that had recently made the news because of the birthday cake issue, you damn well better believe the media would act as judge, jury and executioner. No reason was given because there was none.

I suspect there is more too it than the names. And realistically, if you chose those names for your kids, what the hell else
are you doing to them? There are no laws about bad taste( impossible to enforce), so something else is going on. As far as
privacy......touchy. When the state gets involved, you have no privacy.
I have heard the horror stories of knee jerk reactions to innocent episodes. The manipulation and exploitation of the
episodes for personal payback. The flip side is kids fall through the cracks and die when the state does not look into accusations. It is pretty sad that the state has to have whole departments to deal with human swill, to protect children from
their own parents.
You really should have to pass a test and get a permit to have kids. Sounds like big brother for sure, but I have seen
human rot, it is not pretty. Oh, and that human decay is really really expensive.
