Are you using a power vent? Direct Vent or standard Chimney? Most exhaust outlets on the stoves are 6" for standard chimney hook ups.

Some Direct Vents can run 4" single or double wall stainless pipe.
There is also a Power Vent (Field Controls) exhausting method too. (Preferred,if you don't have a chimney)

You would want stainless, due the fly ash being corrosive.

I guess it depends on what is available to hook the stove up and where you are putting your stove.

My stove has a 6" top vent outlet - no existing chimney to vent to , will be going up and out from the basement trough an outside wall.

A pellet stove vent kit will not work with a coal stove. Pellet stoves have an exhaust blower built in to the stove. The top vent stove you have will require the use of a Field control power venter( stainless steel model). The venter alone will run between $400 and $500 just for the vent motor.

The Alaska Company sells a product called an Alaska Vent. This is not the SWG power venter they sell or a direct vent stove. They don't do a good job of explaining it on their website. There is a dealer Valley View Farms, Berne , NY who has sold some of them and could explain the setup to you.

alaska vent can't be used with a top vent stove and costa are about the same as the power venter form swg . Also Alaska vebt make the stove much more likely to have a hopper fire than the swg which incorporates a baro damper.
