LL pocono side expansion?

Recently installed a leisure line pocono top vent with power vent. I noticed the other day that the side are kind of "bowed out" or expanded. Im not sure if this is normal because of the heat, and is just the metal expanding. It seems to be right about the height that the fire is. I put a level (straight edge) on the side (from front to back) and they definately have an outward curve to them. I have never seen the stove go over 500 degrees at max burn, so Im almost sure it wasnt overheated.The coal-trol is set at 6 min and 42 max. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

All metal will move when heated. Stress that is trapped will be relieved by the heat.
If you could predict how much and in which direction, you'd be one in a million.

it may move some when heated. I have had my stove to 500 degrees, but never noticed the sides being a bit off. I can;t really get mine any hotter, even pushing hot coals off the grate. I am running my Hyfire at min 8 and max 48.

The stove really can't be overfired, there is only so much coal can go on the grate at full burn and I am sure LL tests them for over firing. I believe Jerry @ LL stated they have pushed stoves to 700 degrees with no ill effects.

Thanks for the info guys. Like I said, I am pretty sure that it wasn't over heated, but I just thought I would ask. It might have beent that way when new, I just never noticed it before, but I have only been running it a little more than two weeks. Thanks again!!

The sides are straight when they leave the factory and your situation is normal, since the stove is so tall, the metal tends to normalize and expand when first burned and heated. We always like to have a stove remain perfectly straight on the sides, but unfortunately the tall ones such as the Pocono and Hyfire tend to move a little.
