Question for you all:
What is the 'real' difference between the stainless and galvalume chimney components made by Simpson DuraTech?
I know stainless will not rust, but will the galvalume rust? The cost difference for a 8"x60" pipe length is about $50. Seeing I need to build a 25' chimney to run my boiler that adds up!
Anyone use either? Any comments or issues with the usage of these products? I know that the stainless has that 'bling' look and the galvalume has that flatter looks, but either way looks do not matter to me.
I plan on running the Harman SF-260 thru this chimney. Takes 7" out of unit, expects/wants 8" flue.
Thanks,
Paul

Looks like the Galvalume is a Aluminum-Zinc alloy coated pipe, offering 2 times the corrosion resistance of standard galvanized. Looks like it would last longer than your standard Galvanized Flue Pipe, but Stainless is probably the best choice for longevity.

Can someone point me to a good diagram on how to install this unit. I need to get an idea of what I'm getting myself into.
I will be piping thru my foundation block wall... up the side of my house about 25 feet.. I'll be bending around an overhang (not sure if I need 15* or 30* yet).
Where i'm piping thru my foundation is not exactly above grade. It will be at grade or slightly above grade. I'll extend my window well for purpose of cleanout, if I really have to (Question)?
Please help me out here.
Thanks

Enlarge the 'window well' so you can open the bottom of the Tee to empty ash if needed.
