Best places to get coal???

Best places to get coal???

PostBy: TzHauling On: Wed Jan 28, 2009 10:43 pm

I've been burning coal only for a little over a year so I'm still new to this. I live in Mertztown halfway between Allentown and Reading P.A. I have a EFM520 currently burning rice coal(not sure what else I can burn in it). I have a dump truck but I just don't know the best place to get coal. I'm looking for suggestions on price and quality around the area any help would be appreciated.

Thanks I checked out the links. I was hoping to find something a little closer. I found a couple around the Tamauqua area but I don't know how good it is any thought about them?

Not personally but a friend with a Harman Mark III has gotten coal from South Tamauqua Coal Pockets for years. He keeps going back. Come to think of it, his brother has the same stove and has been going there nearly as long too. Keep searching on this forum. I see a lot of breaker locations listed by member Coalberner. Look for his posts and you'll find other locations.

Edit: they both use nut.

I phone Double Run Trucking and say "bring me coal". They'll go where you tell them to get it. Be prepared to accept 24 ton! I bought Superior pea size.

If you don't want to drive to the mines, you can get coal in Emmaus at Dries and Reichard.
