Pics of your home bar

PostBy: hugg On: Fri Jan 30, 2009 7:23 am

I am planning to build a wet bar in my family room probably about 6' long. I am looking for Ideas on design. If you have a bar, post a pic. I got some ideas from looking online. Thanks

Here's mine Hugg. It's 77" long, counter is 23" wide, 42" high & the serving ledge (behind bar) is 7" wide.
I have a small fridge & an 8 bottle wine cooler under. The sink is on a wall that abuts the downstairs 1/2 bath so water was easy. (Lot's of fun to design & build! ...Post pics when you're done! (use 12 gauge wire (20amp circuit)...for any wiring as you'll be plugging coffee makers, hot plates, etc on it. Don't forget to GFI protect it too!))
Hard to see in the pics but I made some wine glass holders (above bar) by just cutting some dowels & gluing them into something handy.

It's amazing how the bar becomes the center of action when you have family/friends over. It's like a mini kitchen with a microwave! Superbowl this Sunday!!

2 tap keg fridge in the left of the photo. Bar is pretty much where the picture is taken from, small, maybe 6' wide, pine, built it myself. Sorry, I don't seem to have a pic of it

You should knock out the stairs and put a fireman pole in, that could double for pole for the dancing women. :P

Here's mine. Directly adjacent to the coal boiler room. If I leave the door open from the boiler room to the bar, I've got a bar with a coal boiler in it. 8-) (Only when no one else is around.)

All us Americans need that second microwave in case we don't have enough energy to make it up the stairs!

No. That's a Wii guitar for a game called rockstar. It's my kids stuff. Actually, so is the microwave. Unfortunatley, as much as I would like to have some, I have no musical abilities. I did finish the room and install everything except for the stone floor. Oh, and I drank all of the beers that were in that fridge.

We have a small house in the back that is about 1000 sq. foot no one is living in that is actually quite nice. Me and brother are considering turning it into an "entertainment house"

Hey Mr. Dev, nice looking piece of work, but...but only two bar stools :) . BTW good advice on the electrics.

What program did you use on the floor plan, looks like a good library of symbols?

Thanks JB....Yup---12 gauge(20amps) is what's called for in kitchen/dining room circuits & a good idea for bars too.
Bar is too small for any more bar stools
The program I use is Home Plan Pro http://www.homeplanpro.com/ which I use for my insurance company survey jobs. Cheap & easy!

Edit: Attached a sample of the survey work I do with the program (MS Excel File)
