I'm starting to pump my boiler. Used 1 inch pex al pex to 1 1/4 black iron. Because of where I have to get to on both ends I will be useing around 12 to 14- 90's. Is there anyway of makeing soft 90's as compaired to a hard 90? My run is 60 feet with 8' rise. Closed loop with 2 plate heat exchangers and like I say 14 90's could someone suggest a circulation pump. Either single speed or 3 speed. Thanks Brian

Could the Pex not have been snaked to get past the area where the 90's are?
A picture or diagram of the area would generate some alternatives.

According to my charts, a 1-1/4" short radius 90 is equivalent to 3.3 feet of pipe from a pumping standpoint.

Are your heat exchangers series or parallel? The manufacturer of the heat exchanger should be able to give you a pressure drop through them.

Can you bend pex al pex when its 15 degrees? I could save some fittings that way. Other than that I am stubbed just about 2 feet inside the house and have 15 to go. Also pex seems to like there fittings as compared to the price black iron. The dhw will be preheated as it heads for the propane hot water tank. Then mixed with cold for proper temp. with a mixing valve. The return line to the propane boiler will be T and through a heat exchanger to be preheated. Brian
