I can get a good buy on a used DVC-500 Harman direct vent stoker. I am trying to figure up how much it will cost me to vent in from my basement that is about 5foot below grade. I found in the manual the part that I will need. I stopped at my closeset Harman dealer and would not even look up the part to see how much they cost (guess he only wants to sell a new stove).

Could someone help me with a cost estamate on this venting material? Want to make sure this is still a good way to go before I buy the stove.

Part list:
1-10-08324 = 1 each
1-10-08321 = 1 each
1-10-08314 = 2 each
1-10-08311 = 1 each
1-00-08326 = 4 each

Any help ? or ideas

I have my DVC in the basement

47" & 27" pipes along with 2 tee's w/ covers were $575 3 yrs ago
They came with the gaskets
I also got the outside stainless steel tee, pipe & 2 ELs for another $ 150

I'd reccomend the SS pipe on the outside, I have an additional galvanized EL I added later- not worth it.

I went about 2" short on the pipe & raised & leveled my stove with four short 2" diameter black pipe feet.

Someone here mentioned that Simpson makes the DVC pipe.

TDI Mark

PS - is that a LI DVC?

What is a LI DVC ?

So looks like $600 to $700 should get what I need, I will come with the standard wall termination and all the outside pipe.

what would be a good price for the used DVC then ?

Does the DVC make the most sence being that I am going to be putting it in my basement? Or would there be a better option with a standard power vent ?

LI DVC is one advertised for sale here on long island I know about - I thought it may be the one when you mentioned that your local dealer did not want to do anything for you -

Asking whats the best stove is like asking what brand motor oil to use - eventually the furnace guys will get to you though !

The DVC is unique in that its a totally plug and play computer controlled direct vent stove from the factory. It also uses outside combustion air - which it draws down through the outside of that expensive vent pipe.

I like my DVC - I've had it for three years now & Its holding up well.

Found a shop to quote me on the venting material. $741.06 for everything to go up about 6 foot out thru the block wall.

Now just to make a desision on what to do.

Localy I found bagged rice coal for $6.55 each. does that seem decent?
