I added a backdraft damper into the cold return of my stoker and since have noticed a "hum" ...the damper is in the plenum near the convection blower...don't know if it is just the interupted air flow causing the hum or could it be the convection blower is now under a strain? Can a convection blower come under strain from adding a backdraft damper? Thanks

Not sure of your setup...but maybe it;s just the metal against metal causing it to hum or vibrate. Put some tape or something around the edges? or a small piece of foam weatherstripping where it seats? If it's just a non powered damper, the air or motor is probably making it vibrate a bit.....
