Blue Ladies now Yellow

Blue Ladies now Yellow

Blue flames have changed to mostly yellow with the new load of Centralia Coal.
Not from wood and the flames are the same as before just not Blue.
No diesel smell and not oiled to my knowledge.
I know they are a broker.
Just wondering what in the coal makes the Yellow flame.
Heat seems to be similar or better as compared to the last load from Centralia Coal.

I found the answer!
The batch before was laced with a bit of diesel to keep the coal loose.
This batch did not, had the better trucker but it was 'oiled'.
This oil is the cause of the Yellow flame.
This driver also dumps the water before weight out.

Yellow Flames are from the High Volatiles low carbon coal burning off Poor Grade coal. The Blue Flames are From High carbon low Valatiles coal the good Quality stuff . Even with out the oil poor grade high volatile coal will burn Yellow .

So....
Lower BTU per lb?
The Coal seems to put out the same amount of heat at the same air settings.
Will the burn times be shorter?
What should I be looking for?
Is Superior letting new customers buy ful 23 ton loads yet?
