I wanted to check if it was ok to PowerVent a Harman Magnum Stoker. I have been doing tons of reading on here and found mention of power vents about every ohther stove out there but no mention of the Magnum Stoker.
Is there any reason this cant be done. I would like to here any input for or against.

If you buy the Leisure Line Power vent kit with rheostat, safety switch and baro you can be on your way to safely venting your magnum. Just be aware there is no UL listed power vent for your stove, Harman sells the DVC 500 for customers who want to run a stove without a chimney.
The SWG 4HDS power venter in the LL kit is UL listed for LL stoves only, however I have run that unit on many Magnums with no issues. The main thing is you need to measure your draft at all times while running any stove on a Power vent and also you need a WMO-1 safety switch like comes in the LL kit. This switch wires in series with the stove power to shut it down upon loss of draft.
If you are handy around the house, own most normal tools, can figure out how to cut a hole in the side of the stove for the safety switch and are generally self reliant I would recommend tackle this.
One more word of caution, make sure you are not violating some town ordnance or insurance regulation.

I have yet to check out the Leisure Line stove but was just reading up on the Pioneer & Pocono. Both seem like really good options for me. I really like the idea of getting a complete setup from one place. I think I will go visit Valley Stove & Fireplace.
Seems the Leisure Line does have very good service & support as well.

Matthaus:
What town ordnance would you be talking about? I know some towns are restricting the use of out side burners but are they restricting power vent installs as well? I have a hand fired and tell no one I burn coal. Don't want to risk someone telling me I can't burn coal. If I were to install a power vent, I wouldn't let anyone know I had one. Is it due to the fact that with a power vent, the smell is now at ground level instead of above the homes? Let me know.
