Link to the Stream/ Getting Connected

To hear the broadcast simply click here: http://nepacrossroads.com:8000/webcast1.mp3.m3u

Attention Vista users, the link may prompt you to save the file. Save the file and double click it after you saved it.

Note that this link will only be active a a half hour before the show is to air, you should hear music until approximately 7 PM.

There is no "file", it's a audio stream. When you click that link it will either open you default media player and start playing what is being played (which might be mid song/show) or you'll get a prompt for what you want to open it with. Any media player should work because it's a MP3 stream and they are all compatible with MP3.

If you cannot get it to work then you can try to open the link manually. Copy the link above. Open Windows Media Player, then right click the title bar on the top of Windows Media player. File > Open URL. Paste the link into the dialog box and click open.

If that fails download and install VLC, actually VLC is an excellent program that will play just about any audio or video you throw at it without having to deal with codecs but that's for another post. :) Once you have VLC installed copy the link from above and open the player. From the top menu File > Open Network Stream .... A dialog box will open, select the "HTTP/HTTPS/FTP/MMS" option and paste the URL in the dialog box.

You should hear music at this point following any of those directions, the live audio for the show will start at 7PM.

Devil I'm assuming you are on a Vista machine? I only tested the above link on a XP machine and it will work fine however having just tested it on a Vista machine it prompts you to save the file.... Nothing i can do about right now however if you follow these directions you'll be able to connect to the live stream:

As another method when you click the link above Vista will prompt you to save the file, once you have saved it you should be able to double click the file you saved and it will open the stream.

Richard, is there something playing at this link all of the time? When you first posted the link I was able to hear the music being broadcast. I was working during the shows broadcast, but did listen to the recorded show and sounded great. When I click on the link for the live feed you posted it will not connect. Heard music before but nothing now or is this link only active during the show now. Also would like to say great job by all of those involved. Thanks.

Sorry at the moment there is nothing playing however I will enable it when we have enough material to keep a feed going 24/7. I'll proabably loop the shows 24/7.

At the moment no it is not, it will be active a few hours prior to upcoming shows. Once we have a large enough library I'll probably run it 24/7. I'm working on a page now that will dedicated to schedule/live feeds/archives.

Richard, it is still not 24x7? I just thought I would test out the connection, but I get the error about "file not found" from Media Player. I guess I'll have to wait until tonight :mad3:

It's not running right now, I have to stream it from my own computer at the moment so I don't run it 24/7...

It will be live an hour or two before the show starts so you can make sure you're connected.

It doesn't work with my computer. Windows media player doesn't like the file name: http://nepacrossroads.com:8000/webcast1.mp3.m3u Why doesn't it end in mp3? Running Windows 2000, Media player 9.

Didn't work at 7 or doesn't work now?

It won't work now because there is no broadcast.

Why doesn't it end in mp3?

If I remember correctly I had to use that to troubleshoot some other issues. You'd be the first I'm aware of that can't connect.
