Kegarise Stove in Bernville Rt 183, off I-78 sells Blaschak for 5.25 a bag. Don't know if that's the cheapest but it's convenient for me.

Bagged coal here is not going to cost much less if anything here than if you picked it up at locally near you. You'll only realize significant savings if you purchase in loose bulk directly from a breaker.

bulk..? Well if I take out all the seats and open the moon roof, and frame the interior with Plywood. How funny would that be, a coal shoot to a 2 ton box in the back..

If you have a bunch of 40 gallon pails or some other container you can fill them up..... Be sure to call the breaker you'll be stopping, make sure they'll allow you to do that and that the coal is available if you go that route.

Edit: I meant 5 gallon pails, about 40 lb to one 5 gallon pail. Blonde moment. :D

How do the weigh it... do they have you drive in and out over a scale? I guess Heavy Duty Plastic bags could also work, or am I wasting my time... Would be an adventure to see an actual breaker... I have a couple a hundred Blakshack bages in good shape

Yes, you'll pull your truck on scale so they can get light weight. Go fill your bags up from the stock pile... then drive back on. Most breakers are going to be charging around $160ish per ton. If the bagged is priced at $5.25 you'll net a $100 savings on a ton. I can only assume the cost fro bagged is higher where you're at? Around $6 a bag?

I don't think plastic bags for garbage will work though.

I must be out of my mind.... But I may just do this. I do need 3/4 ton or so, to get me through the season. Any place recommend, that has deep mined and will let me fill up some buckets or bages. I'll take pictures of my crazy adventure.

Hudson coal..?

Bring your own bags, walk the rr tracks, and pick your own. Might take awhile but it's fun.

Yep, that's what I want to do..... I'll Try to pick up a large rock piece that we can put in the flower bed...

I figure I can put a simple 2x4 frame together and Line it with a blue trap. The area in the back of a Suburban with the 3rd row removed is a little larger then 4x5. So I'll frame in an open box 4x5x1.5 or so and just shove in roughly 30 Cubic feet or .75 Ton.

I'll see if I can round up enough buckets though that would be easier..

Heck I had the fork lift drop a 2400 lb pallet of bagged in the back on 2 occasions. I guess it's more of an adventure then anything, my son will love seeing the big dump trucks :o Hope they are open on Monday even though it is a Holiday...

Also So which Breaker have Deep Mined coal, What the best value in you opinion, Superior?

People do it all the time, and if you have to come down this area a few times a year then it's really worth it. Most guys have a pickup and trailer and take back a few ton with them.
