Favorite beer?

Goodness. Why would you want to limit yourself in that way? There are so many different types to enjoy.

I feel the same way about women. But alas, I did select my favorite woman and I call her...."wife". Since this was a sacrifice of great proportion made on the altar of society for the benefit of mankind, I feel my duty to society is done in regard to picking a favorite and sticking with it.

I will not be swayed, bribed, or coerced into selecting a favorite beer. I will at all times maintain an open mind with regard to beer and try as many different varieties as I deem sufficient and in quantities that please.

You sir, Mr. "Favorite beer" questioner, are a provocateur and a traitor to the gender ! :chop:

I will drink nearly anything, but my regular purchases are Budweiser, Samual Adams, and various pale ales.

Be careful with those, I had a few over the holidays and they are pretty potent!

Hey now we're talking. That beer is actually brewed in NY. I've seen it being made during a tour of their place.

Great stuff. Not cheap, but always enjoyable. Their 3 philosphers is exceptional. Probably is my favorite beer.

I like Victory Hop Devil, which is a great IPA.

gambler wrote:I have always been a big fan of beer (read drinks too much). And I get on kicks where I will drink a brand for a while and then switch to another. But lately my kick has come from Jim Beam. I never used to drink whiskey but have taken a liking to it. So for now beer has taken a back seat and I let Mr. Beam do the driving.
Out in this neck of the woods, New Glarus Brewing Co. is absolutely fabulous beer. I have to drive a bit north to Wisconsin to get it, as it's not sold out of the state. We've also got Leinenkugel's, Point, Capitol City, and Huber. All brewed in Wisconsin (lived there 12 years). I've also run across quite a few decent Illinois brewed beers.

Gambler - have you tried the black label Beam? I've not tried the 'regular' Beam to compare, but the black label just kills the "snooty" whiskies like Maker's Mark, etc. I sip it straight up, no ice. Great stuff.

I have not tried it. I had a bottle of it in my hand the other day but put it back and bought the regular Beam.
I will give it a try.

Monster Ale http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/45/2231/ or more recently Sierra Nevada Big Foot Ale http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/140/2671 ... Yummm. I usually have only (1) or (2) of these and then stick with
Magic Hat Circus Boy or other decent Wheat Beer.
