When I ordered my Alaska Hearth Model last summer from Williams Coal and Oil in Ma, I was told it would be delivered mid January. Mid January came around so I called and was told delivery would be towards the end of Jan. Ok, no problem, I can wait another week or two. Well the end of Jan. came so I called Alaska so I could hear it from them when it would be delivered to Williams and they told me that it was scheduled to be shipped out the beginning of this week and it should be delivered to Williams the same day since it's not that far away. Well today is Wednesday and still no word.
Just wondering if anyone else is still waiting. Chip at Williams is a real nice guy and I know he feels bad so I don't want to keep pestering him.

Evvvvveryone has had to wait more than they thought no matter what company they bought from. Be patient, it will be worth the wait.

The people with MAY/JUNE orders from some companies are just getting them!! It's just not Alaska.

FYI
Are Coal Stoves in Short Supply (Fall 2008)?

Harman is delayed too. I ordered my DVC-500 on May 1, 2008, was told I would have it by Sept the latest. I finally picked it up from dealor on JAN 21, 2009. They said anyone ordering the same stove today, would have a year to year and half backorder. All stove companies must've been swamped with orders when the cost of fuel oil skyrocketed.
I hope you get it soon so you can test it this winter. It'll be worth the wait :D

It's not the wait that bothers me, it's that they keep you thinking that it will be in next week when they know it won't.

Steel I think it has more to do where your dealer is located. When the order went in how many units does he sell a year and so on. This dealer below is 90 miles from Alaska factory He has several units in stock You might want to contact him direct. Or Have your dealer call him and see if he can get a unit off of him to sell to you Then when your unit comes in your dealer could ship it back to this dealer. To replace the one he got off of him. Or Just have your dealer buy it outright for you .Or you could buy it outright off of this dealer . Something to think about Good luck .

Just got a call from the dealer. It's in! I am taking the day off work tomorrow to go get it. I'll post some pictures when it's installed. Still another month of heating season left. I feel like an eight year old on Christmas eve :D

Fantastic! Patience is a virtue. Have fun installing it, if your doing it yourself. Installing the coal stove by myself was 50% of the fun. Watching the blue-ladys dancing was the other 50%.

Don't want to make anybody feel bad, but I ordered a Leisure Line Pioneer mid January
and it's been in and running for a week. No fuss, no muss. Runs like a top.

Pretty amazing huh? I ordered mine at the end of May, first week of June. Was delivered on time as promised, I have been
running it non stop at full blast since 11-17-08. This stove is my friend.
